Norrhära

from €200.00

Located at the northeastern tip of Kökar, Norrhära stands out from the crowd. Here, rugged is beautiful. Known also as Norrherre, this island’s significance as a crossroads for vital sea routes is evident in its rock carvings. Sheltered harbor coves and towering cliffs seem tailor-made for seafarers. The lookout visibility in every direction is excellent, so it’s no surprise that smugglers are said to have made their hideout here. On clear days, the eye can stretch south to Utö (24.5 km) and north to Jungfruskär, about 18 km away, which, by the way, once belonged to Åland.
