Kihti
On a small islet in the middle of Kihti stands the Kihti Lighthouse, built in 1938. In windy weather only the tower is visible. On a beautiful day at the end of October I drove to Kihti. The weather was unusually warm and calm for the season. When I arrived I turned off the engine and enjoyed the silence. Just an unreal silence and a mirror-like sea stretching as far as the eye can see. It felt as though Kihti was in some sort of maintenance mode. Not even the sound of waves lapping against the hull of the boat was heard.
As is common on outer rocks seals are often spotted in Kihti as well. In calm conditions they are easy to spot from a distance. After the initial contact they dive beneath the surface only to resurface moments later to observe the visitor. Seals are curious creatures. If you float quietly in place they keep their distance but when you drive slowly they start to follow along.
